The Albanese Government has announced the sale of 67 ADF sites across Australia.

While some sites might be suitable for sale, among them are irreplaceable pieces of our national story. Once sold, they are gone forever.

I am launching an ambitious campaign aimed at forcing the government to rethink the sale of important heritage defence sites, and I need you standing with me.

Labor says these sales are about modernising our defence estate. But the truth is this is about plugging holes in an inadequate defence budget that Labor refuses to fund properly.

The RSL has called for a rethink. Heritage bodies are sounding the alarm. And I am fighting this in the Senate, in the media, and in the community.

But I cannot do it without your support. Please sign the petition and encourage your friends and family to join us in this fight.

Snapshot - four iconic sites

🏛️ VICTORIA BARRACKS MELBOURNE
Built from bluestone in the 1850s to house British imperial troops, this St Kilda Road landmark served as the headquarters of the Department of Defence from Federation until 1958. During World War II, it housed Australia's War Cabinet — the room where Prime Ministers Menzies and Curtin made decisions that shaped the fate of our nation.
🏛️ VICTORIA BARRACKS SYDNEY‍
Established in 1840 and constructed from Hawkesbury sandstone by convict labourers, this Paddington landmark has been in continuous military use for 185 years. Listed on the Commonwealth Heritage List, it contains one of the most important collections of Georgian military buildings in Australia, and has served as the home of Forces Command for generations.
🏛️ VICTORIA BARRACKS BRISBANE
This is a Commonwealth Heritage-listed site featuring 17 heritage-listed buildings, a historic Parade Ground, sandstone boundary walls, and culturally significant military collections.
🏛️ FORT QUEENSCLIFF‍‍
Perched on Shortland's Bluff at the entrance to Port Phillip Bay, Fort Queenscliff has stood guard over the sea lanes into Melbourne since 1860. It is one of the largest and best-preserved 19th century coastal artillery forts in Australia.
